I grew up in an environment where most people told me I'd fail, so it's like I automatically think that way. How do I overcome that kind of thinking?
If your environment isn't ideal, figure out a way to change it.

This is true of most people, if you put them in a new environment, they’ll begin to adopt the behaviors of those around them.
If you surround them with people who have a particular taste in clothing, they will begin to have the same taste.
Put them with people who thinking drinking and drugs are awesome, they’ll probably follow suit.
Put them with people who value openness, thoughtfulness, and being considerate, they’ll probably pick up a few new behaviors.
You could apply this down to the words they use, how they think, the values they uphold, the habits they have, the role models look up to, how they spend their time, how they spend money, etc.
This is why parents are often very concerned about their child’s choice of friends — they have a huge influence!
This is why one of Jim Rohn’s most famous quotes is, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
The easiest way to hack this is to change your environment, surround yourself with people who are positive, genuinely believe in you, and have the default lens of “I can” and I assure you, you’ll start seeing the world differently.
If you don’t know where to start, the internet is a good way to begin.
Learned optimism might be something you’d benefit from learning about.
